A New Home

I have wandered out of a big party and am now somewhere in North London near Dalston Junction. How am I going to get back? I am shown pictures of a building with a central tower which is being offered to me for £35000. I can afford that - I am keen to buy it.

A Bad Row In Scunthorpe

It is a cold grey day in Scunthorpe and a friend and I have been dropped off from a bus at the top of a long slide that descends to the sea. It is too cold to swim so we wander around and end up having a blazing row. He tells me that all I do is witter on and on. I retort that perhaps it is about time we stopped our friendship. We pack our bags at the hotel in grim silence. We are told there is a room upstairs where we can wait for a cab back to the station. Can we drink tea there? I ask. No. Then I'm going to find a cafe in town. I go down the path and look back . My friend is laughing now - looks like we are going to make up.

Tricky Journey With Eastenders Stacey

Stacey from Eastenders and I are working on our dreams. She is not that interested. We journey together on the underground, through festival crowds, now manoevering out of a high window into a busy crater. Stacey gets me to lower her and her pram first, but how am I supposed to get down? "Look," she says , "if we do this a few times they throw money at us." I am unimpressed but jump down onto a plastic water wheel. Then I'm up to my waist in thick mud while everyone else seems to be getting through fine. And I've lost my bag with my camcorder. "If we get enough money to buy this place, Stace, the first thing I am going to do is put in some stairs!...That's the punchline," I add.

Distant Dog

As I head along the motorway my dog is tagging along behind halfheartedly. He is so far away he has become little more than a black dot in the distance. I have to believe in this relationship and that he will return without my insisting that he sticks by me at all times. So I walk on, miles ahead. Will he follow like a good sheepdog? Have I made a mistake? I so want to see him again.

Catboy Twins

Wonderful dreams tonight - more journeys to exotic places. We pass through a shop/museum showing a collection of intriguing artefacts from around the world. Mum loves it and wants to stay longer. At the end I see two beautiful men with cats' ears, dressed in cat suits. They are young and nimble and carry a large drawing board.

(The men make me think of the amazing artist /tightrope walker Phillipe Petit.)

A Fresh View

Travelling along a mountainous road I am now about to turn a corner. I am at the end of a stage of work. There are celebrations. I look back at art I produced years ago scarcely remembering any of it. Was any of it really mine?

(I have been in Carrick for just over two months working on my dream diary and collecting other peoples' dreams. Tomorrow I leave for a conference on dreams in Lincoln.)

Life Stopped Being Serious Today

The minibus that usually picks up this group of elderly adults with learning disabilities has broken down. There is nothing else available- we are stranded. I realise it is going to be some time before we get picked up . As the time passes everyone becomes more relaxed - there is no threat of institutions or pushy "care" staff - everyone starts to be themselves - we are going to have fun. Life stopped being serious today.

Epic Journey

We start in an English gentlemen's outfitters where all the upper crust men are wearing 1920's suits, climb up to the top floor, stumbling over an antique obstacle course to more modern exclusive menswear. From there through back streets of Talinn and Dubrovnik, on to a vast crater. There I nervously lie on my front and gaze over the edge at two boys somersaulting down at an alarming rate. The crater shrinks until it is just 10 metres across and tourists are invited to roll their own pasta croissants down its floury slopes.
